About a year ago, we moved back to Fort Collins after it became evident that our son Andy needed more support. Out in the community, we happened to run into a couple friends from Spirit of Joy who informed us about Rejoicing Spirits, a new worship service for caregiving families such as our own.
It has been such a blessing to us and our son Andy who has Down syndrome. Andy loves this time together to praise God, and has the confidence to get up and “preach.” Even though we can’t always understand what he is saying, God can! He also loves the joyful music and dance portion of the service. We, as parents, do not need to be concerned as much about what he might say or do. This is such a gift to us, and we are blessed. Thank you to all who participate and make us feel so welcomed!
