Because of your calls, messages, prayers and efforts, Medicaid for people with disabilities remains safe.
Early this summer, the U.S. Senate failed to advance legislation that would have repealed provisions of the Affordable Care Act, which would have negatively impacted people with disabilities.
Your voice was heard. Your voice matters. You made a positive difference.
Today, Mosaic is celebrating its dedicated advocates. Disability advocates truly led the charge to #SaveMedicaid. More than 1,500 advocates sent more than 6,100 messages and calls to 170 members of Congress. Embracing God’s call to serve in the world, your actions gave a voice to issues impacting people with intellectual disabilities.
Rejoice in your efforts, your devotion ensured people with intellectual disabilities can continue living meaningful lives in caring communities.
Health care reform will likely be back at some point, but we are encouraged that your advocacy over the past few months will lead to a more open and transparent process that allows people with disabilities and those who care about them to participate in the discussions.
Thank you, again, for your advocacy!
